Here how that works. The cold water from your water lines goes through a pipe right into the water heater unit. The propane gas burner immediately heats it to your set temperature. From there, the heated water is sent directly to where it is needed: the shower, the kitchen sink, the dishwasher, the utility sink, wherever!
And if you need hot water in more than one place, a tankless water heater can handle that. It keeps heating water as long as it’s needed. So, you can take a shower when the dishwasher is running, or a load of hot-water laundry is in the wash, or if someone is taking a shower in the other bathroom.
Without a tank, you don’t have the worries that come with a tank. There’s no tank to maintain, and no tank to fail. Tankless water heaters also last about twice as long as conventional water heaters with a tank.
