Size options

At Pitmon Oil & Gas, we have a range of tank sizes and types. Contact Us Based on your usage levels, we can help you decide what your home needs. If you use propane only sporadically, for a couple of appliances, your home’s requirements will be very different than those of a home that regularly uses propane for multiple appliances. Here are your options, from smallest to largest:

• 120-gallon tanks: If you live in an average-sized home and use propane primarily for cooking appliances, dryers, space heaters and fireplaces, a 120-gallon tank is probably best for you. Usually, homes with this size tank go through about 50 gallons of propane monthly.
• 500-gallon tanks: If you use propane to heat your home and your monthly propane use averages between 100 and 200 gallons, then a 500-gallon tank is probably the best size for you. Both underground and aboveground tanks are available.
• 1,000-gallon tanks (and larger): Large residential estates that are heated with propane and also use many propane appliances like clothes dryers, cooktops, ovens, space heaters, fireplaces, and pool or spa heaters require tanks that hold at least 1,000 gallons. You can choose between underground and aboveground tanks.

Should I lease or buy my tank?

Pitmon Oil & Gas offers options for tank leasing as well as purchase. We know that the question of which to choose is a big one. When you lease, you won’t have as much to worry about, and we’ll handle the maintenance. If you purchase your tank, all up-front expenses will be yours and you’ll be responsible for repairs, maintenance and all post-installation checks.
